Eli Larson (’18) was a participant in the Gustavus First-Year Research Program (FYRE) in the summer of 2015, working with chemistry professors Dr. Ian Hill and Dr. Dwight Stoll. Both prior to and subsequent to his FYRE experience he did research in the laboratory of Dr. Stoll in January of 2015, throughout the 15-16 academic year, and in January of 2016. This summer he is leveraging all of this prior experience as he engages in a summer research internship with Dr. Mohammad Al-Sayah at the pharmaceutical company Genentech in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over the summer he will be working on the development of new two-dimensional chromatography methods in Genentech’s Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences division for the characterization of novel pharmaceutical materials.
